Atlanta Tea Party Report

stop-spending-my-money

American’s for Prosperity had a great turnout in Atlanta even though it was soggy, cold and wet.  About three enter people brought posters, children strollers and umbrellas to protest at state capitol last Friday.  Hundreds more have been in touch with organizers saying that they’re unable to attend because of working but wanted every one to know that they were supporting them.

Several state legislators came out and got soaking wet with them.  State representatives Tom Graves, Austin Scott, state senators Chip Rogers and David Shafer, insurance commissioner John Oxendine and several conservative organizations that help put the event together were among the speakers at the event. You can watch the video here

They are planning another event Thursday, March 19.  This event will give opportunity’s for people attending cer tour the capitol, observe the legislature in action, lobby your legislator and enjoy speeches during the luncheon from the elected officials who ” get it”.  However if you plan to attend events you will need to RSVP.  To reserve your spot for the Americans for prosperity in Atlanta on March 19 go to their web site by clicking here and reserve your spot early because space as a limited.

This is a great event to get out and let the people representing us know that we are fed up and tired of the waste in government spending that they have been practicing and are continuing to practice.  I encourage everyone to get involved before it’s too late.  There are many legislative bills that will be voted on soon that will have vast effects on our economy, businesses, home ownership, taxes, and our freedom to choose the way we want to live our lives could be lost.  As Americans we should all be concerned with losing our freedoms, liberty and the right to pursue happiness which is guaranteed us by the constitution.  These freedoms are being chipped away at by certain legislation and we all need to voice an opinion as to where each of us stand on these issues.

Americansforprosperity.org is a great organization to get involved with.  They are a grassroots organization that is committed to advancing individuals rights to economic freedom and opportunity.  AFP believes reducing the size and scope of government is the best safeguard to ensuring and individuals productivity and prosperity for all Americans.  When government grows large and fat it restricts the individual’s right to prosperity and also restricts the individual’s freedom of choice.  Do not take your rights and place them in the hands of government officials.  Stand up and be heard!

Michelle Malkin has alot more information about this and other organizations planning to protest and show how discussed the American people truly are.  She has been reporting on this for quite some time.  There are many photographs and videos of the protests on our website.  To get two Michelle site click here.

I will be updating those post later on today with more information about organizations that are planning more activities in the coming days.
